The under-construction road from the Lasbella Bridge to Nazimabad roundabout will be opened for traffic by February 17. Chief Engineer of the Tameer-e-Karachi project Nazir Kidwai during a briefing on the Lasbella-Nazimabad road to Sindh Chief Minister's adviser, Mumtaz Hameed, on Wednesday said that the work on the road was being done expeditiously.

He said that the road would be opened for vehicular traffic by mid February.

The adviser met the people and shopkeepers and assured them restoration of water connection, telephone connections, sewerage system and supply of natural gas on preferential basis.

He said that he would personally look into the problems of the people of the area and would ensure that their problems had been solved.

Hameed said that road networks around cities in the urban and the rural areas were being strengthened.

In the meantime people living in other parts of Liaquatabad Town have complained of broken roads that are lying unattended by the local nazim.

These roads are in deplorable condition for the last more than two years.

At places these roads were dug to provide sewerage and water connections to City District Government offices and workshops constructed on amenity plots, in nurseries and parks.
