The joint working group of Pakistan and Turkey held wide-ranging talks on anti-terrorism measures taken by the two brotherly countries during the past one year, here on Wednesday. Interior secretaries of the two countries led their sides in the talks which were also attended by the top internal security officials.

Later talking to Business Recorder, Interior Secretary Tariq Mahmud said that the two sides shared each other's experiences in tackling the problems of extremism and terrorism as both Pakistan and Turkey have been targets of terrorist activities during the past several years. He said that the two sides agreed to continue their cooperation to control this menace.

The interior secretary said that human trafficking has been another problem of mutual concern for some time. He said the Turkish delegation appreciated the measures taken by the Government of Pakistan to control human trafficking and assured their government's full support to tackle the problem.

Tariq Mahmud said that the two sides also discussed anti-narcotics and other internal and external security related issues confronting the two countries.
