It is a matter of gsreat satisfaction that Expo Pakistan-2005 is being organised by the Export Promotion Bureau (EPB), providing an opportunity to reinforce buyer's confidence in products, Made in Pakistan. This event will showcase our exports for the global market, while serving as a doorway to the international markets and offering a unique opportunity for local entrepreneurs to develop new business relations, internationally.

Due to the consistent economic policies of the government, our exports are increasing year after year, surpassing the annual targeted levels. During the year 2003-04, Pakistan's exports touched US $12.3 billion, exceeding 10% over the budgeted figure. This upward trend is a harbinger of prosperity and economic security for the people of Pakistan.

EPB has gathered all the exporters under the umbrella of Expo Pakistan 2005, providing them with a much-needed opportunity to prove their advanced and standardised manufacturing capabilities to the rest of the world. These exporters have given a remarkable performance for which they deserve commendation.

I hope that EPB will continue with its efforts and performance, continuing to be major contributor to the economic prosperity of Pakistan. I am confident that Expo Pakistan-2005 will provide an excellent platform and the necessary impetus to achieve and even overtake targets fixed for exports during the next fiscal year.
