National Institute of Child Health (NICH) in its three-day symposium organised 'Mushaira' on Saturday night, in collaboration with PharmEvo for providing an entertainment opportunity for its foreign and local delegates. Other poets including Ahmed Jawed, Khawaja Razi Haider, Raza Chughtai, Irfan Sattar, Anwar Shaoor, Ather Shah Khan Jedi, Professor Inait Ali Khan, Dr Iqbal Pirzada and Ajmal Siraj recite their verses.

Addressing the gathering eminent poet, Ahmed Faraz emphasised that there was a need to organise such events on regular basis to promote and revive literature and culture in society. "Mushairas has promoted our cultural and civilisation values, whereas fresh air and unique ideas are great blessings in age of sorrows," he added.

Dr Jamal Mirza said youngsters should develop interest in poetry and literature and should be proud of their culture and language.

Well-known poet Irfan Sattar said that it was a draw back that our society had without sense of arts and literature, therefore, we should promote our arts and literature.

He said the sponsorship not only promoted people's behaviour, but also gave healthy atmosphere, adding the sponsorship must come forward to promote cultural events.

PharmEvo in this sense brought four books, Biaz (collection of poetry), Khush Kalamia (collection of prose), Golden Winds (quotations), Pen Pricks Muslim Scientists and Scholars etc.

The first PharmEvo calendar bad been come in 2000 with "Ghalib" titled, while the recent calendar discussed the human beings 'The Creator and the Universe.' The calendar 2005 consisted on 12 pages with three Mir Taqi Mir, three Ghalib, three Allama Iqbal and one Jigar Muradabadi verses.

Large number of art lovers, leading Artists, poets, intellectuals, media and NGO's representative attended the function.-PR
