The railway traffic on mainline was disrupted following derailment of a goods train at Drigh Road railway station in early hours of Tuesday morning. The train was carrying 60 empty wagons being taken to Lahore for repair purposes at Mughalpura workshop. While it was passing through Drigh station at about 4 am about a dozen wagons went off the track as a result the railway line was blocked and could be cleared after three hours whereafter normal train movement started.

Divisional Superintendent Railway Junaid Qureshi reached the spot of derailment and supervised the rehabilitation work.

Later, he told APP that railway track was repaired and normal train movement allowed.

He said an inquiry has been ordered to ascertain the cause of derailment.
