The meeting was co-chaired by Additional Secretary, Ministry of Defence Production Major General Ali Baz and Deputy Director, Defence Security Co-operation Agency (DSCA), United States of America (USA) Richard Millies.
Major General Ali Baz gave a comprehensive presentation on the present and future defence-equipment requirements of the Armed Forces of Pakistan being funded through the US foreign military sales programme.
The US delegation noted the defence requirements of Pakistan and promised to work for early release of the equipment.
The visiting delegation informed the Pakistani side that some of the defence equipment was already in he pipeline.
Deputy Assistant Secretary or Political and Military Affairs, State Department (USA) Kara Bue, gave an elaborate briefing on Major Non-Nato Ally (MNNA) status to Pakistan by the United States and said that Pakistan would be able to avail the facilities under the provisions of MNNA status.
Richard Millies, head of the US delegation, reply appreciated Pakistan's efforts against fighting and curbing the menace of terrorism.
The American delegation consisted of 19 members including Rear Admiral Moeller, Director Plan and Policy, Centcom, Rear Admiral Craig McDonald, Chief, ODRP US Embassy and Ms Kara Bue, Deputy Assistant Secretary for Political and Military Affairs, Department of State (USA).
The SWAG meeting was part of the Pakistan-US Defence Consultative Group Forum which will meet on Thursday in the Ministry of Defence.
