Returning officer, Deputy Attorney General Nadeem Azhar Siddiqui announced the result of the election on the completion of voting process.
This completed the process of electing FPCCI office-bearers for a term of two years (2005-06).
Nadeen Azhar Siddiqui was appointed as returning officer for the final phase of the FPCCI elections by the divisional bench of the Sindh High Court (SHC).
Chaudhry Muhammad Saeed of Businessmen Panel on Sunday along with his six other candidates were elected unopposed as president and vice-presidents, respectively, of the FPCCI as no one filed nomination papers.
Those who were declared successful unopposed as vice-presidents were: Khalid Mehmood from Sindh, Zubair Malik from Islamabad Chamber of Commerce and Industry on federal capital seat, Shaikh Muhammad Aslam from Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce and Industry on chamber class seat, Akbar Abdullah of Karachi on association seat, Azhar Saeed Butt on Punjab and Ghulam Sabir Khan on Balochistan seat.
Chairman, sub-committee of the federation on administration and finance, Jamil Mehboob Magoon, former presidents of the federation Tariq Saeed, Iftikhar Ali Malik, Mian Muhammad Ashraf, S.M. Munir, Raja Muhammad Jamil, Mian Muhammad Yousaf, Haroon Rashid and LCCI chief Mian Misbahur Rehman and other trade leaders have congratulated newly elected office-bearers and hoped that they will work for the welfare of the business community and help strengthen national economy by forging unity in businessmen ranks.
Talking to Business Recorder newly elected FPCCI president Chaudhry Saeed said he would use his abilities to make the FPCCI a vibrant body.
