The meeting took four items of the agenda. These were: to authorise new office-bearers and relevant members of the FPCCI to operate bank accounts and approve its expenses for 2005-06; to authorise FPCCI president to deal with pending legal cases pertaining to the FPCCI election; to authorise the president to form various standing committees and nominate their chairmen, co-chairmen and vice-chairmen in consultation with vice-presidents; and to authorise the president to form arbitration tribunals as and when necessary in consultation with vice-presidents.
According to FPCCI chief spokesman Iftikhar Ali Malik, the meeting took several important decisions and delegated powers to newly elected office-bearers to run the affairs of the body.
He said the meeting approved all four items of the agenda with consensus to authorise FPCCI president Chaudhry Saeed to form arbitration tribunal to help sort out dispute between trading bodies, if any, as and when necessary in consultation with vice-presidents.
He said the meeting also authorised the president to deal with pending legal cases pertaining to the FPCCI elections.
