The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has reduced duty drawback on the export of polypropylene used for packing of blended/cotton yarn; glass/electric lamps and BOPP films from January 1, 2005. The CBR on Saturday issued four notifications to amend standard SROs 412(I)/2001 and 415(I)/2001. The duty drawback on the export of polypropylene used in the packing of blended or cotton yarn being packed in pallet packing wounded on cones per 100-lbs yarn will be Rs 0.97 per 100 lbs.

The duty drawback has been reduced on the export of glass lamps for lanterns up to Rs 8.13 per 100 pieces from January 1.

The duty drawback on the export of electric lamps would be 2.85 percent of the fob value from January 1.

According to another notification, duty drawback on the export of plain BOPP film will be 7.24 percent of the fob value; cigarette BOPP film will be Rs 6.06 per kilogram; pearlized metalized BOPP film, 7.35 percent of the fob value; metalized BOPP film, 7.22 percent of the fob value; composite BOPP film, 7.01 percent of the fob value; pearlized BOPP film, 7.15 percent of the fob value; lamination grade cast propylene (CPP) film (type A), 6.98 percent of the fob value; twist grade cast propylene (CPP) film, 6.73 percent of the fob value and duty drawback on the export of metallizable grade cast propylene (CPP) film will be 6.61 percent of the fob value.
