The Rawalpindi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (RCCI) would continue its efforts for socio-economic development and prosperity of the country and the forthcoming sixth industrial exhibition would give boost to the commerce activities in the region. RCCI President Najam Rehan has said this while talking to mediamen here on Thursday.

The RCCI chief told reporters the industrial exhibitions in the past helped increase the business and exports from Rawalpindi region, besides introduction of local products among the general masses.

Foreign investors, particularly from the Central Asia and China, visited those exhibitions and expressed their desire to invest in Rawalpindi region, he added.

He observed that keeping in view the changes on world economic front, "our exporters, industrialists and the manufacturers must concentrate on making their products cost effective and improving the quality to get the desired goals."

He said the RCCI industrial fair provided a chance to exhibitors to introduce their products. The exhibitors from corporate sectors showed their great interest in participating in the RCCI's forthcoming event, he told the reporters.

Najam Rehan said Rawalpindi region had become a centre point for trade and commerce activities with China, Afghanistan and the Central Asian Republics, adding the exhibitions in the past enabled the exporters to make their business contacts with the businessmen of those countries. He hoped the exhibition would attract people in record numbers from the twin cities and the surrounding areas.
