Ziaul Haq Sarhadi, who is also the President of Frontier Customs Agents Group said that because of the present government's reforms the county's trade has crossed than one billion rupees with Afghanistan adding that it would further boost the trade and economy of the country. He said that the President address to the nation reflects the wishes and aspiration of Pakistanis and he deserved to retain the office of Chief of Army Staff.
Ziaul Hag Sarhadi said that the law and order situation of the country has very much improved since October 12 1999 adding that it would attract a huge amount of foreign investment in the country.
He added that under the dynamic leadership of President General Pervez Musharraf the image of Pakistan has improved among the Muslim Ummah and the exports of the country increased manifold. He added that PIA, Pakistan Railways efficiency and earnings has improved adding PIA has bought four extra passengers aircrafts to facilitate customers.
Responding to the industrialisation point raised by President the eminent traders said that Gwadar Port Coastal Highway Project, Gomal Zam Dam, Thar canal and up-gradation of Mangla Dam projects would put the country on the road to progress and prosperity.
He also lauded the President vision in alleviating poverty. He said the rural and urban ongoing developmental projects focused on setting up industries, development of human resources mechanism and concentrated on the esteem lower class to alleviate their poverty with the help of Zakat and Khushali Bank are keys to get rid of poverty menace.
Senator Ilyas Bilour said that the Pakistan GDP was improving from 6 percent to more than 8 percent and with the passage of time the GDP would be further raised which is a very healthy sign for the economic development of the country. He categorically said that the population of the country was increasing day by day and the President plan to control population explosion was a key to alleviate poverty and to solve unemployment issues.
He admitted that the media is free and there is no restriction on speech. He added that the president concern over religious extremism was true and for this purpose the nation could fight to root out the menace collectively.
