Federal Minister for Kashmir Affairs and Northern Areas appreciated the firm stand of President General Pervez Musharraf on Kashmir issue in his address to the nation about the resolution of the dispute according to the wishes of Kashmiris. The minister said that President made it clear that the country would not show unilateral flexibility and hoped that opposition would support the government's Indian occupied Kashmir policy.

Commenting on the speech of the President on Friday, he said the opposition should respect norms of the democracy and accept the decision of the majority with open heart.

The minister said that President's decision on uniform issue would help in bringing further economic stability and strengthening national institutions.

He said his party and the whole nation have complete confidence in policies of the President Musharraf introduced during the last five years to make the country strong and restore democracy in the country.
