Political Agent, South Waziristan Agency (SWA) Asmatullah Khan Gandapur who along with his driver Mehrdali Mehsud sustained injuries in an explosion of Improvised Explosive Device (IED) planted by terrorists near district Tank late on Thursday, was shifted to Combined Military Hospital (CMH) here on Friday for further medical treatment.

General Officer Commanding (GOC) Peshawar, Major General Mohammad Akram Sahi visited CMH to enquire the health of both the injured and presented floral bouquet and good wishes on the behalf of Crops Commander Lieutenant General Safdar Hussain, who was not in the city.

In his message, the Crops Commander prayed for the early recovery of Asmatullah Khan Gandapur and his driver. He has directed doctors and paramedical staff to provide all possible treatment to them.

Talking to Asmatullah Gandapur General Officer Commanding, Major General Mohammad Akram Sahi termed attempt on his life as dastardly act and reiterated that fight against the terrorists would continue till their elimination from Pakistani soil.

He said the sacrifices offered by men and officers of both the Armed Forces and the political administration has ensured the solidarity and integrity of the country. During military offensive against foreign terrorists and their local facilitators, political administration worked hand in glove, that resulted in dismantling the terrorist's hideouts and restoration of peace in South Waziristan region, he added.

According to an ISPR release, Political Agent SWA Asmatullah Gandapur thanked military authorities for providing them treatment and other facilities and said that political administration would not be unnerved by the cowardly acts of terrorism. He reiterated that he was ready to offer more sacrifices for the national cause.
