Diwan Jafar Hussain Bokhari, Parliamentary Secretary for Education, said that Quaid-e-Azam was a great leader who had created his own tradition of leadership. He was addressing a two day conference on Quaid-e-Azam 'Myths and Realities, Life and Career' organised by National Institute of Historical and Cultural Research Centre of Excellence (NIHCR), Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.

The conference was also attended by Dr Nasim Askari Rizvi, former chairman Punjab University, Syed Waqar Ali Shah, Professor, Quaid-e-Azam University, Dr Lal Baha Ali, member FPSC, Dr Moizzuddin, Director Iqbal Academy.

Parliamentary secretary said that Quaid achieved greatness through his talent and the building up of a character that had emerged unscathed from all vicissitudes.

Stanley Wolpert has very aptly remarked that few individuals significantly alter the course of history. Fewer still modify the map of the world, hardly any one can be credited with creating a nation-state, and Mohammed Ali Jinnah did all three.

Dr Moizuddin, Director Iqbal Academy said that Quaid-e-Azam virtually conjured the country into statehood by the force of his indomitable will, his place of primacy in Pakistan's history looms like a lofty minaret over the achievements of all his contemporaries in the Muslim League, he added.

Dr Lal Baha, member FPSC narrated a Quaid's quotation saying, "our object should be peace within and peace without and we want to live peacefully and maintain cordial and friendly relations with our immediate neighbours and with the world at large. Our country has no aggressive designs against any one and we stand by the United Nations Charter and will gladly make our full contribution to the peace and prosperity of the world".

Dr Nasim Askari Rizvi, former chairman Punjab University said that Quaid-e-Azam was an extremely clear-headed leader. He was frank and forthright in his views and minced no words. He was quite wise on foreign policy objectives.

Syed Waqar Ali Shah, faculty member Quaid-e-Azam University, said that Quaid while elaborating his views to the people of the United States of America had declared that his foreign policy was one of friendliness and goodwill towards all nations of the world and Pakistan did not cherish aggressive designs against any country or nation.

He stated that Quaid believed in the principle of honesty and fair play in national and international dealings and was prepared to make the utmost contribution to the promotion of peace and prosperity among the nations of the world.

He said that Quaid adopted a policy that Pakistan will never be found lacking in extending its material and moral help to the oppressed and suppressed peoples and our present government must follow the footsteps of our great leader if the country wants position among the comity of nations.
