The Orient Petroleum Inc (OPI) has made seventh successful discovery of oil and natural gas in the Khipro Block of Mirpurkhas district which will go into commercial production in three to four months, OPI General Manager Anwar Moeen told
Business Recorder here on Tuesday. In an exclusive interview, Moeen said that the new discovery "Bilal North" would provide 100 barrels of light crude oil and six million cubic feet of natural gas daily, valued at $40 million to $45 million per annum.
He said, "Since OPI already had its infrastructure in this block, therefore, commercial production of oil and gas from the new well will be easy and quick."
Moeen said that earlier six oil discoveries of OPI in the area were providing 1,300 barrels of light crude oil and 60 million cubic feet of natural gas per day to meet the domestic needs.
