Official sources told APP the President Hu Jintao reassured China would continue to help Pakistan in its economic development.
While welcoming the Prime Minister, the Chinese President hoped his visit would further contribute to the development of their decades' old partnership.
Shaukat Aziz conveyed him greetings and good wishes on behalf of President General Pervez Musharraf and the people of Pakistan. He thanked him for China's consistent support to Pakistan for its socio-economic development.
Aziz told him he had held very fruitful talks with his Chinese counterpart Wen Jiabao, which covered all areas of their common interest.

Official sources told newsmen that the matters relating to their defence co-operation came under discussion during the meeting.
Prime Minister noted that their defence ties had been source of peace and security in the region, adding those relations met the aspirations of their people.
General Cao, China's Central Military Commission vice chairman, said China attached great importance to its defence co-operation with Pakistan and hoped that would continue to grow with the passage of time.
China, he said was looking forward to develop multifaceted friendship with Pakistan.
RAILWAYS: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz appreciated China's assistance in modernisation of the Pakistan Railways.
He stated this while talking with the top Dongfang Electric Corporation leaders, who called on him here at the State Guest House.
They reviewed the progress on agreement, under which China was providing 169 coaches and 69 locomotive engines to Pakistan as well as improving railway's signalling and track system.
The prime minister hoped that China's commitment regarding transfer of technology will help the country make self-reliance in the communication sector.
A delegation of the China International Water and Electric Corporation also called on the prime minister, and discussed various proposals for enhancing their bilateral co-operation in the science and technology sector.
MANGLA DAM: Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz on Thursday asked a Chinese company, 'The China International Water and Electric Corporation' to take necessary steps for early completion of Mangla Dam's raising project.
He was talking to the company's top executives, who called on him at the State Guest House. He hoped that the project would become another symbol of their deep-rooted friendship. Aziz lauded China's support and assistance in the development of dams and other water resources in the country. He hoped that the company will take part in international bidding for construction of Neelum-Jhelum and other such dams.
