Speaking on the occasion, Zafar Siddiqi said initially, an investment of $10.7 million has been made and within one-year after its launching it would be listed in the stock market.
He said that CNBC Pakistan will be broadcast from the state-of-the-art studios and production facilities in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore, adding it will transmit live programme in both Urdu and English from a Pakistani perspective, 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
"The CNBC Pakistan will be a notable addition to the Pakistani media landscape," remarked Siddiqi.
"It will utilise the global resources of the CNBC network to deliver a continuous flow of relevant, engaging news from all of the Pakistani markets and from business centres around the world", he said.
The CNBC Pakistan will broadcast according to the highest international news gathering and reporting standards, he said, adding: "We have also made a large investment in the human resources area to bring the best and most talented Pakistanis to the channel, and provide media training for Pakistanis interested in pursuing a career in the media sector."
Siddiqi said the CNBC Pakistan is owned by VNTV, a Pakistani company, but will have access to the CNBC global network, which reaches 200 million households around the world.
Mohammad Rashid Zahir, chief executive, Saudi Pak Industrial and Agricultural Investment Company, said: "The CNBC Pakistan will be the most important media outlet in Pakistan for the economic sector reflecting the continued growth and opportunity in the nation's financial markets."
