Lahore High Court (LHC) has restrained Al-Huda Medical College from making further admission of students, and also directed the college administration not to receive any fee from the students who are on roll in the college.

The court also directed the respondent college not to issue any advertisement in the press till further orders and rose for November 23.

The court passed these orders on a suo moto action taken by the Chief Justice LHC, Justice Iftikhar Hussain Chaudhry over the complaints of the public.

Earlier, the legal advisor to University of Health Sciences, Lahore (UHSL) sought time to submit a reply with reference to the law and the rules on the subject. The court also directed deputy attorney general to secure the attendance of the representative of Pakistan Medical & Dental Council (PM&DC) on next date of hearing.

The counsel of respondent UHSL contended that since the process of affiliation is likely to consume considerable time, therefore, the management has decided to commence teaching process in anticipation of grant of affiliation and so far 143 students have been enrolled.

The court after hearing both the sides retrained the respondent university, from enrolling more students.
