The Central Board of Revenue (CBR) has finalised the new simplified 'Duty and Tax Remission for Export' (DTRE) Rules incorporating all clarifications issued from time to time. The new DTRE scheme will be issued before the expiry of SRO 410 'Temporary Importation Scheme' so that maximum number of exporters can avail the benefit under the revamped Duty and Tax Remission for Export (DTRE) Rules.

'Temporary Importation Scheme' had been extended up to December 31, 2004, to facilitate 13 leading value-added industries engaged in temporary import of raw materials/inputs for manufacture of export goods.

Sources told Business Recorder here on Friday that CBR has dispatched the draft of the new DTRE scheme to the Federation of Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) and Ministry of Commerce for comments before notification.
