Four personnel of Punjab Rangers were killed and five received injuries in a mine explosion along Balochistan-Punjab border early Thursday. A vehicle of Punjab Rangers was patrolling Punjab-Balochistan border area close to Dera Bugti district. When it reached Rekho Jatro area of Zamurdan, a mine exploded under the vehicle following which four Punjab Rangers personnel were killed and five others received injuries.

Rojhan Mazari police has also confirmed the incident. Meanwhile, a search operation has been launched in the area.

Outlaws also fired rockets at a check-post on the Punjab-Balochistan border.

Rangers Lance Naik Amjad and constable Naeem Zia died on the spot while Ahmedyar, Javed, Muhammad Khair, Muhammad Boota and Amir Khan, all Rangers personnel, sustained serious injuries and rushed to the Rahimyar Khan hospital.

Four other people of the area also reportedly died, however, their names could not be ascertained.

It is said that the Rangers also retaliated and reportedly two outlaws were killed but the bodies were taken away by their accomplices.
