An Asian Development Bank (ADB) delegation called on Pakistan Railways (PR) General Manager, Muhammad Aurangzeb Khan and other senior officials on Monday and discussed matters pertaining to the railways.

According to a PR's spokesman, the two-member ADB delegation was led by ADB's Senior Transport Economist Terral Dinkson. Parudal Dat, Transport Specialist, was the another member.

Aurangzeb gave a detailed briefing to the delegation and highlighted the progress and success PR has attained in the last four years and the projects it was pursuing.

The senior railway officials told the delegation that had the present pace of progress maintained PR would have become a successful institution provided services of international standards.

The delegation hoped that the PR would continue to make progress at the present level. They said that they would send their report on PR to the high-ups of the bank in near future, after which new avenues of co-operation between PR and ADB would be sought.
