The Central Bard of Revenue (CBR) has constituted a committee to resolve sales tax refund problems faced by commercial importers.

The committee will consist of Shakil Ahmed Dhingra, chairman of Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) sales tax committee,; Haroon Agar, chairman of Karachi Chamber of Commerce and Industry (KCCI) customs valuation committee, and Samina Tasleem Zehra, Deputy Collector, Sales Tax House, Karachi.

A circular issued by the Collectorate of Sales Tax Audit said that a committee has been constituted to monitor the compliance of SRO 592 (1)/04 dated July 8, 2004, by commercial importers. The committee would report progress on monthly basis. It would also resolve disputes between the collectorate and importers regarding sales tax refund.
