A shutter down was observed in Balochistan on the call of four parties Baloch Alliance. The call was supported by PML-N, Awami National Party, Pashtoonkhwa Milli Awami Party, PPP, Hazara Siasi Workers, students unions and others.

It was weekly off day and most of the shops were closed in routine. Some shops were opened in the morning but protestors forced them to close. Police detained around 50 protestors including five lawyers in uniform.

There was smooth flow of traffic. All sorts of vehicles such as local buses, coaches, rickshaws, cars, jeeps, Suzukis, motorcycles, scooters etc plied uninterruptedly.

Government had adopted strict security measures to meet any law and order situation. Police contingents were deployed at various points and extensive patrolling was also evident in various city roads and in sensitive areas.

Reports of observance of shutter were received from interior of Balochistan such as Chaman, Dalbandin, Kalat, Khuzdar, Dera Bugti, Gwadar etc. However there was no report of any unpleasant incident from these parts.
