Intelligence agencies have rounded up six members of a terrorist gang planning to blow up the Presidency, the Prime Minster House, the Chief of Army Staff House, the GHQ, the Convention Centre, the US Embassy and the Lal Havaili.

Information Minster Sheikh Rashid Ahmed in a hurriedly called press conference said that the masterminds of this gang are two Egyptian - Qari Ismel and Shaikh Issa - who are still at large.

The minister said that a large number of weapons including rocket launchers, rockets, grenades, 50 elements of explosives, bombs and rifles have been taken in possessions from them.

The search for three to four members of this group is underway.

He deplored the performance of Pakistani embassies, while responding to a question on issuance of visa without verification to such foreigners.

The minister referred the names of former MNA from Kohat Javed Ibrahim Paracha and Ghazi Abdul Rashid, a Naib Imam of Lal Mosque in Islamabad.

The van and three cell-phone components used by these two Egyptians have been confiscated. Ghazi is also at large.

He said that within next two to three days there would be more arrests.

The minister also claimed that these arrests have come with the exclusive efforts of local intelligence agencies without any foreign support.

He said that the Egyptian government is also being contacted in this regard.

He said the investigation is being expanded to arrest more members of this group.

The minister refused to name any single terrorist group while answering a question about the affiliation of the group. He also denied any change in the schedule of transfer of government.
