This was stated by Federal Education Minister Zobaida Jalal, while addressing Pakistan Muslim League (Q) here on Sunday.
She said no nation could achieve progress and prosperity without education, and it was the reason the government focused on rapid improvement in the education to meet the challenges of the modern world.
Highlighting various achievements in the field of education, the Minister hoped that effective steps, taken by the government, would help in imparting better knowledge to the future generation of the country.
She said educational grants had been increased in all the districts of the country so that educational institutions could get maximum facilities and maintain a high education standard.
The educational grant of district Sanghar was also being increased every year as compared to Rs 31 million in 2001-2002, she added.
Zubaida said during the tenure of President Pervez Musharraf, a number of steps were being taken to reduce poverty level in the country while series of development projects had been launched in all sectors, including health, education and communication.
The government had also succeeded in reducing corruption, she further said.
Meanwhile, talking to newsmen, Zubaida Jalal strongly criticised the murderous attack on Finance Minister and Prime Minister-designate Shaukat Aziz, and said it was an act of vested interests, who failed to achieve their nefarious designs.
Those who are involved in terrorism were the enemies of Islam and Pakistan, she said, and added the government was making all out efforts to root out all types of terrorism from the country.
Such type of terrorist acts could not stop the government from taking decisions for the larger interests of people and the country, she added.
During the visit to the Government Girls High School, the Minister announced provision of a latest computer for girl students of the school.
The Minister was also briefed about academic achievements by the management of Cadet College, Sanghar, during her visit to the college.
She also visited the residence of Dr Maqbool at Jhol town to condole with him on the sad demise of his relative.
