An amount of over Rs 3.327 million was collected and deposited into the government treasury during the last financial year on account of different government duties, dues, payments & fines etc relating to the Labour Department, here.

This was stated by District Officer Labour, Muhammad Aslam Javed in a briefing about the Labour Department Faisalabad.

He said that during this period the officers, inspectors and other staff to the department conducted 50,086 inspections and submitted 4,913 challans in the concerned courts. During the last year more than Rs 6.47 lac was received on account to fines while Rs 2.680 million were collected under various types of government fee & other dues etc and were deposited into the government treasury accordingly.

Giving the details the D.O. Labour said that during this period 2807 challans were submitted in the courts under factories Act 1934, of which 391 were decided and a fine of Rs 81,826 was received while under shops Act 3842 challans were submitted.

Out of these 2062 cases were decided and Rs 6,608 were received as fine. Under the weights & measures Law 1975244 challans were submitted in the court out of these 918 cases were decided and Rs 274,200 were received as fine while an amount of Rs 2.263 million was received under the head fees of weight & measures.
