Multan and adjacent areas, including Muzaffargarh also received severe downpour on Sunday. Resultantly low lying and slum areas become flooded with three to four feet deep water. All type of traffic remained suspended and trains and flights were delayed for one to three hours. The rain began at 12:50 pm and continued till around 2:30 pm.

Multan Electric Power Supply Corporation has claimed that power supply during rain continued uninterruptedly and no untoward incident was reported in the city.

Agencies add: Twin districts of Nasirabad and Jafferabad received stormy rains on Saturday night in which one person was killed and five others received injuries. The storm uprooted many electricity poles and trees.

According to details, one Khalifa was sleeping in his house when the roof fell killing him on the spot.

Tehsil Tambo of Nasirabad district was the worst affected by storm where roofs of many houses gave way to the stormy winds.

The rain however, made the sweltering weather pleasant. More rain is expected during the next twenty-four hours.

Meanwhile, torrential rain lashed Peshawar valley and its surroundings on Sunday morning, which brought pleasant change in the weather and beat the scorching heat.

The rain started early in the morning and continued for some time lowering the temperature. The people took a sigh of relief with the change in weather, which was very humid if not so hot in last couple of days.

It was the second spell of monsoon rains. Sky remained heavily overcast throughout the day and being a weekly holiday the residents enjoyed this sudden climatic change.

The regional Met office recorded 11-mm rain in Peshawar valley. It has forecast cloudy weather with chances of more rains and thunderstorm in the metropolis in next 24 hours.
