"No hurdle and delay will be tolerated in completion of the project," he remarked during a visit to the site. He was given a briefing on the project, during which he said that the early completion of the project would ease out the traffic congestion on city roads by providing an alternate quick route to the motorists.
He deputed Additional Secretary, Ministry of Communication K.B. Rind as Co-ordinator of the Project.
As the motorists and industrial vehicular would be using the expressway, therefore, the burden and wearing and tearing of the city roads would be less, making them more durable, he said.
He said the victims of the project would be rehabilitated at the earliest and efforts were underway to ensure early payments to them at market rates.
He called upon the city and the Sindh governments to make hectic efforts for completion of the project at the earliest. The delay would add to the miseries of the people, he added.
He said north and south parts of the project should be cleared and constructed first due to additional rush on the sites.
Ghouri said the early completion of the project will go a long way in acceleration of the economic activity in the city, which, he added, has direct impact on the national economy.
Earlier, chairman National Highway Authority (NHA), General Farrukh Javed and Brigadier Muhammad Anwar briefed the minister about the project and various technical hurdles in the way of early completion.
Later, the minister made a detailed visit to the Lyari Expressway from Mauripur to Sohrab Goth along with the concerned officials.
