It was the second exercise of its kind by the NTC. The corporation has earlier organised similar online test for selection of assistant divisional engineers and data network supervisors on March 07, at Nadra centres in the main cities.
The entire exercise for quality human resource selection was completed in 15 days.
990 candidates appeared in the recent online test at seven stations. The candidates viewed their results at the end of the test on the same computer.
The NTC is the first public sector organisation, which has started a new trend of computer-based online testing system for recruitment of quality manpower.
Besides online testing, the NTC has gone one step further by introducing interviews through video conferencing to take lead in the public sector for selection of manpower through IT-based techniques. This has ensured uniformity in assessment of candidates, having complete video/audio record of the interview.
The corporation has also saved the finances and precious time of members of the selection committee, who did not have to travel from city to city for conducting interviews to complete the selection process.
