Sindh Chief Minister Dr Arbab Ghulam Rahim said that the suicide bomb attack on future Prime Minister of Pakistan Shaukat Aziz would not hinder his election campaign in Tharparkar.

The election campaign would continue as usual and hopefully he would win the seat, Dr Arbab Rahim said.

He was talking to newsmen in Darro town where he flew in to attend a religious congregation on Saturday afternoon.

Refuting to the allegations of rigging, he said that the state and government would ensure free and fair elections. He said that the government was striving to curb terrorist and anti-social activities in the province.

He appreciated the efforts of District Police Officer (DPO), Thatta Muzaffar Shaikh for a successful operation for elimination of three notorious dacoits recently.

He said that he would feel satisfied for his administration, if the general public and press appreciated the law and order conditions in the province.

He said that scarcity of water in Sindh was a very serious problem because it would lead to more unemployment.

He however said that irrigation department has been directed for a just and equitable distribution of water. He issued strict directive to irrigation officials to ensure water supply to tail-enders in Thatta district within two days.

To a question about Pir Pagara's parting ways with Pakistan Muslim League headed by Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, Dr Rahim said that he would continue to seek prayers and support of Pir Sahib Pagara. He said that Pir Pagara has also continued his support to the Sindh government.

To a question about alleged possession of land in Mirpur Sakro by some influential persons, Dr Rahim ordered an inquiry into the matter and ensures justice to the parties. He promised to visit Thatta again in the near future.

Earlier, the Chief Minister flew in Darro town, attended a religious congregation in Makhdoomi Mosque, and offered prayers. Sindh Advisor Syed Aijaz Ali Shah Shirazi, District Nazim Syed Shafqat Hussein Shah Shirazi, MNAs Ayaz Shah Shirazi, Muhammed Ali Khan Malkani, MPA Syed Sarfaraz Shah Shirazi, Taluka Mirpurbathoro Nazim Arbab Rameezuddin Memon, DOD Ahmed Bux Narejo, DPO Muzaffar Shaikh, local Nazims, councillors and notables were also present at the occasion. Later, the chief minister flew for Mithi.
