The international visitors and journalists who came for the K-2 Golden Jubilee celebrations and the 51st Nanga Parbat anniversary have generally felt that the flights to Northern areas especially Gilgit and Skardu are very much at the mercy of weather, and PIA and other airlines must do something to provide the Northern area airports all-weather flights.

It has been pointed out that there is an urgent need to have an airport at Chilas or any point near it.

It was also urged by the visitors and correspondents that itineraries have to be kept and not dragged and for this better communication and co-ordination is needed especially for group travellers to the Northern areas.
