Mobilink GSM, the most favourite cellular company in the country, has truly reshaped communication in Pakistan by removing long distance and roaming charges.

Addressing a press conference, Mobilink GSM President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Zouhair A. Khaliq said now the Mobilink customers could call any other Mobilink number anywhere in the country and pay only the applicable airtime rate.

A customer could be in Islamabad calling Karachi, or be in Peshawar calling Quetta, or in Hyderabad calling Lahore-all calls would be considered local as long as it was a Mobilink number, he said.

"Similarly, now a customer can take his Mobilink number anywhere in Pakistan and receive free incoming calls without any roaming charges. "This is the first time in Pakistan that any operator has removed roaming across the entire country," he said.

He said there were no north/south regions and no province boundaries as the entire country was considered a single region and no roaming charges would be paid by any Mobilink subscriber travelling anywhere in Pakistan in any province.

Zouhair A. Khaliq added that this was yet another step towards reshaping communication. "Ten years ago, Mobilink started its operations with a vision to bring freedom of communication to the people of Pakistan.

"Today, on the eve of our 10th anniversary, we have taken this freedom to a whole new dimension", he said. He further added that the company would maintain its superior, premium quality and continue to provide complete customer satisfaction to its subscribers. Zouhair thanked the policies of the government and PTA for making the telecommunication environment in the country conducive to growth.

He said that Mobilink's decision to drop long distance and roaming charges would further support the government policies, which will help in expanding the market. This reduction in the prices would make mobile phones accessible to the masses, he said.

"Earlier, this year, we declared our resolve of Reshaping Communication and that is exactly what we have delivered. The people of Pakistan have come to expect the best from Mobilink, and we are determined to exceed their expectations.-PR
