During recent visit of Indian Foreign Minister Natwar Singh to Pakistan, the project was discussed with him and he had shown consent to join it, as the project will benefit all the stakeholders, he said while talking to reporters here on Saturday.
About the recent raise in gas tariff, the minister said it was in no way a financial burden on people, and added that the increase was just Rs 5 for 100 rupees, which is 'peanut'. However, he pointed out that in case of a big discovery of gas reservoirs in the country, the government might withdraw the raise and pass on the benefit to the consumers.
About frequent incidents of attacks on gas pipelines, he said that such incidents happen all over the world; therefore, it should not be an 'unusual phenomenon' in Pakistan.
