"For us nothing is more important than Pakistan. Its solidarity, sovereignty and progress are our primary goals," he said in his message to mark the 37th death anniversary of Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah.
"Today we are observing the death anniversary of the Madar-e-Millat. Living nations never forget their leaders and always follow their guiding principles in seeking solution of their problems," he added.
Chaudhry Shujaat said their names and sayings are a beacon of light for the people and give them new strength and vigour. He remembered the untiring efforts and devotion of the Madar-e-Millat who stood like a rock with the Quaid-e-Azam and infused a new spirit of liberty among the Muslims of the sub-continent.
"After the death of the Quaid, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah guided the nation with the same spirit, courage and sagacity and her contribution constitutes a golden chapter in our history," he added.
The Prime Minister said that Muslims of the subcontinent, while adopting the historic Lahore Resolution, had pledged a separate homeland with one voice and this was the ideology of Pakistan. In line with this ideology, the country's forefathers under the leadership of the Quaid rendered innumerable sacrifices, he said and added, creation of Pakistan was one part of the ideology, its development form the other part.
He recalled that in 1965, on the occasion of Independence Day, Mohtarma Fatima Jinnah while reiterating words of the Quaid had said, creation of Pakistan was an objective but not an end of a struggle in itself. The creation of Pakistan was a great mission and this mission must not be shattered for the lack of political sagacity.
The Prime Minister said Pakistan Muslim League (PML), being a founding party of the country, cherishes and values the sayings of the Quaid-e-Azam as a trust. "Following the footsteps of the Quaid-e-Azam and the Madar-e-Millat, Pakistan is fast moving on the road to progress," he added.
Chaudhry Shujaat pledged to earn a rightful place for Pakistan as a modern, developed and a moderate welfare Islamic State in the comity of nations and asked the countrymen to contribute their share in achieving these lofty goals. "This will be the best way of paying tributes to our leaders," he said.
