This was stated by Prime Minister and PML President, Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain, while speaking to the PML Sindh workers and leaders at State Guest House here on Thursday.
He said the committee would comprise 70 to 80 percent workers and non-legislators, while only 20 percent members of the committees would be taken from MNAs, MPAs or Senators.
The PML chief underlined the need for creating unity among the ranks of the party and said that everyone who was now in the party was a member of the PML. "I want that there should be no monopoly in the party," he remarked.
He said the main purpose of formation of the committees is to solve problems of party workers in close consultation. The point of view coalition partners would also be accommodated, he added.
He said the committees would also include education, health, women affairs, Zakat etc and would play the role of a bridge between the government and the party.
Chaudhry Shujaat said that future Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz would also keep a close liaison with the party workers.
For the first time, he pointed out, before presenting the budget, Finance Minister Shaukat Aziz visited the PML House in Islamabad and briefed the party members about budgetary proposals.
Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain said it was encouraging that the future Prime Minister was also taking interest in the party matters.
He said he wanted to introduce a new culture in the party, so that the workers could easily have access to the government functionaries.
They could now easily visit Prime Minister House or office of any of the ministers, he added.
Speaking on the occasion, PML Secretary General Mushahid Hussain Sayed said the proposed committees would provide guidance to the government on every matter. Those committees would point out faults in working of the government and provide suggestions for their redressal, he added.
Earlier, in his opening remarks, Senator Nisar Memon said that it was a matter of pride for the PML workers that Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain had visited Karachi and Sindh after taking over the charge of the Prime Minister.
He said people of the Sindh were also grateful to the Prime Minister that he had raised voice against their sense of deprivation.
Among others who also attended the meeting included Finance Minister and Premier-designate Shaukat Aziz, Federal Minister for Information Sheikh Rashid Ahmed, designated Secretary General for PML Sindh and Provincial Minister Imtiaz Shaikh, PML Senior Vice-President and Federal Minister for Religious Affairs Ijazul Haq, Naib Nazim of City District Government of Karachi Tariq Hassan and senior leaders of the PML Sindh.
