President General Pervez Musharraf has summoned five Fata MNAs on Saturday to look into their grievances.

Official sources told Business Recorder that taking note of Fata MNAs decision to withdraw support to the government, President Musharraf has decided to have direct interaction with them.

Fata members had said that they were not taken into confidence on Wana operation and no one consulted them in the budget preparations.

These MNAs stunned the coalition government during the session, when they announced withdrawing support and decided to join the opposition.

They informed the National Assembly Secretariat in writing and demanded allocation of separate seats.

"Yes, we have been informed that the president is desirous of a meeting with us. We appreciate that and hope to get encouraging response from him on our genuine concerns," Fata MNA Munir Orakzai said.

He told Business Recorder that at the end of a meeting at the Planning Division on Thursday they were assured that the tribal areas would get around Rs 1 billion additional allocation for development during 2004-05.
