A foreign miscreant believed to be al Qaeda suspect was killed while nine others including six foreigners were apprehended by Frontier Corps troops on Miranshah-Razmak Road in North Waziristan Agency in two separate incidents on Thursday, says an ISPR press release.

Reportedly at 11.30 am on Thursday, a Hiace Van on Miranshah-Razmak Road approached a FC check post where they were stopped for routine check. A passenger in the van, who was later identified as a foreign miscreant, lobbed a grenade at the troops.

The FC troops responded and shot him down on the spot.

The driver, a Pakistani national, with the van has been apprehended.

In another incident, a civil car with three Burqa-clad passengers approached FC check post. During the search the FC Jawans got suspicious, and in detailed search those in Burqa were found to be fully armed men and were apprehended.

Five grenades and five machine guns were recovered from their possession.

Two FC Jawans were also injured during encounter with miscreants.
