The Commonwealth Ministerial Action Group (CMAG) reinstated Pakistan on Friday in the 33-member Commonwealth club lilting its suspension which was in place since October 1999.

This was announced at a joint press briefing by Commonwealth Secretary General Don McKinnon, along with nine-member group, at the Commonwealth Secretariat here where they concluded their two-day crucial meeting on Friday afternoon.

Currently, CMAG comprises the foreign ministers of The Bahamas, Canada, India, Lesotho, Malta, Nigeria, Samoa, Sri Lanka and United Republic of Tanzania.

The group will also consider developments in Fiji Islands, which remained on CMAG's agenda since the lifting in 2002 of its suspension from the councils of the Commonwealth.
