Responding to a question that why should the oil companies fix prices of their products on their own, the CBR chairman said that the state controlled Oil & Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) monitored the advisory committee of oil companies.
Talking to newsmen at Multan Press Club's programme "Guftgoo", he said that Pakistan would get rid of the IMF loans during the current financial year and the revenue target of Rs 510 billion would easily be achieved.
"We are very much willing to maintain consistent GDP growth to end poverty, hunger, starvation and deprivation," he added.
Responding to a question about the WTO regime, the CBR chief said that only textile sector would be affected due to this regime.
He said that Medium Taxpayers Units (MTU) would be established in Multan and four other cities while Large Taxpayers Unit (LTU) would be established in Lahore as well, like Karachi.
Talking about corruption of CBR officials and their sticking to a single post for decades, the CBR chairman assured reshuffling of the staff and action against those responsible.
Later, the chairman donated three computers to the Multan Press Club.
