Two separate roadside bomb blasts in Baghdad killed four US soldiers, the US Army said on Sunday.

A spokesman said three soldiers were killed and one wounded in a blast around 10:45 pm (1945 GMT) on Saturday in Southeast Baghdad. Another soldier was wounded when a roadside bomb exploded at 6:30 am on Sunday and later died of his wounds.

Meanwhile, six members of an Iraqi family were killed and four children wounded when their village near Miqdadiya, north of Baghdad was fired on, relatives said on Sunday.

Family members blamed US troops, saying soldiers had heard people shooting into the air on Saturday to celebrate a wedding nearby and had fired back from their tanks.

The US military said it had no information about any incident in Zuham village.

"The attack happened at about 2.30 pm (1130 GMT), when the family was in the house," Cousin Basher Attach Saleh said.

"The first shell landed in a nearby shop, and the next one inside the house. Two children were blown into pieces. There were five killed and five wounded."

Doctors at a hospital in nearby Baquba, where the wounded were treated, said a sixth person died from her injuries on Sunday morning.
