Sheikh Khalid Habib has been elected Regional Chairman of All Pakistan Textile Processing Mills Association (APTPMA), while Mian Aftab Ahmad elected Senior Vice Chairman for next one year unopposed. Addressing after assuming their offices, they mentioned that the 18th amendment in the Constitution is yielding negative impact over the Punjab Textile Industry since last nine years resultantly the textile exports in Punjab are decreasing due to non availability of level playing field. They pointed out that the labour intensive industry in Punjab facing severe financial crisis and Processing Industry enabling it to successfully compete with their regional competitors in international markets. Both leaders mentioned that due to the step-motherly treatment, the existing Processing Industrial Units are forced to switch over to downsizing.
