The falling trend persisted on the money market on Wednesday in the process of trading, dealers said. The rupee continued its falling trend in relation to the dollar, losing more 10 paisas for buying and selling at Rs 105.90 and Rs 106.10 respectively, they said. The rupee was trading versus the euro for buying and selling at Rs 126.25 and Rs 127.50 respectively, they said.

INTER-BANK MARKET RATES: In the third Asian trend, the dollar was on tenterhooks, trading sideways against major rivals on Wednesday as investors awaited the outcome of the Federal Reserve's meeting at which it was expected to announce plans to trim its $4.2 trillion in bond holdings.

The dollar index, which tracks the greenback against a basket of six major rivals, edged down 0.1 percent to 91.739, though it remained well above its more than 2-1/2 year low of 91.011 plumbed on Sept 8.

The dollar was trading against the Indian rupee at Rs 64.305, the US currency was available versus the Malaysian ringgit at 4.192 and the greenback was at 6.568 in terms of the Chinese yuan.

OPEN MARKET RATES: The rupee showed no change in terms of the dollar for buying and selling at Rs 105.40 and Rs 105.41 respectively, they said.

RUPEE IN LAHORE: The Pakistani rupee shed in terms of foreign currencies including the American dollar and British pound in the local currency market on Wednesday.

According to currency dealers, the short supply phenomenon of the US dollar continued to prevail in the currency market for the second consecutive day. Consequently, it further rose to Rs 106.10 and Rs 106.20 for buying and selling, respectively, against overnight closing rates of Rs 105.85 and Rs 106.15 respectively, they added.

Likewise, the local currency also followed the same suit versus the pound sterling. The pound's buying and selling rates drifted from Tuesday's closing of Rs 141.80 and Rs 142.50 to Rs 142.10 and Rs 143.00 respectively, they said.

RUPEE IN ISLAMABAD AND RAWALPINDI: The value of rupee against the remained uncharged at the open currency markets of Islamabad and Rawalpindi here on Wednesday.

The dollar opened at Rs 107.10 (buying) and Rs 107.20 (selling) against same last rate. It closed at Rs 107.10 (buying) and Rs 107.20 (selling) in evening session.
