Pakistan Army has no role in the Panama Case against the ruling Sharif family, Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa said on Monday, saying it comes under the jurisdiction of country's courts. Talking to a delegation of Defence committees from Senate and National Assembly, the army chief said that he congratulated Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif on the victory of Kalsoom Nawaz in Sunday's by-election in Lahore's NA-120 constituency.

He added he enjoyed good relations with former prime minister, Nawaz Sharif, and his successor Shahid Khaqan Abbasi. He further said, "people can say or think whatever they want." During a session with the CoAS, the lawmakers were given a detailed briefing on the evolving security situation, including the situation on the country's borders.

The delegation led by Senator Lieutenant-General Abdul Qayyum (retd) also laid a wreath at the Martyr's monument, said a statement released by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR). General Bajwa also expressed dissatisfaction over country's defence budget while highlighting increase in price hike in the country.
