The grand unveiling ceremony of the FATA Football Super League-2017 held at a local hotel in Islamabad with seven international footballers from three different countries of the world will be taking part in the event to be commencing at Qayyum Sports Complex here in October this year. Takuma Kahuuchi, President Bridgestone Tyres Company, Japan who specially arrived from Japan for unveiling the trophy of the League.

Federal Minister for IPC Riaz Hussain Pirzada, Minister of State for SAFRON Galib Khan Wazir, FATA Parliamentarian Haji Bismallah Jan, MNA Al-Haj Shahi Gul Afridi, MNA Hamid Ul Haq, Iqbal Rasul of Rehman Tyre, Saeed of Momin Oil Gulf States, M. Anwar and Mudassir Shinwari, CEO of the NGK and KYB Auto Mobil Companies Middle East and Japan, chief organizer Shahid Khan Shinwari, members of women national football team who recently visited Australia, office-bearers of the Islamabad and Rawalpindi Football Association and large numbers of players and spectators were also present.

Welcoming the guests, MNA Al-Haj Shahji Gul thanked all the guests and assured that more such activities would be organized in futures as well. He said the basic aim of the event is to highlight the soft image of the people of FATA that they are sports loving and believing in peace. He expressed the hope that the federal government would give a helping hand to the organizing committee.

He said a request has already been sent to the Prime Minister of Pakistan Shahid Khaqan Abbasi to grace the occasion as chief guest at the opening of the League in Peshawar. Addressing the ceremony Minister of State for SAFRON Galib Khan Wazir lauded the organizing committee for initiating an event which could help portraying a soft image of the youth of FATA.

He also thanked the sponsors for assuring financial and moral help. He said holding of the FFSL-2017 matches in Khurram Agency, Orakzai Agency, Bajaur Agency will provide due opportunities to the youth of FATA to see top players in action. He also assured the organizing committee that all out efforts and resources would be utilized in providing due security to the teams and its players during the matches.

In his speech, Federal Minister for IPC Riaz Hussain Pirzada appreciated the Shahid Khan Shinwari for initiating an event earned good name for the country. He said FATA is full of talent and such talent needs to be included in the main pool so that they could go under qualified coaches. He said the government is very keen to have healthy activities in FATA. He assured that steps would be taken to facilitate FATA youth. He said FATA youth have talent and can rule the world subjected to provide them facilities.

He said now peace to FATA and the rest of the country has been restored because of matchless sacrifices given by the Jawans of law enforcing agencies and Pakistan Army. He said the people of FATA in particular and Pakistan in general have rendered great sacrifices. Takuna Kakuuchi said that like Japan, Pakistan youth love to play games and Pakistan has produced world class players who have good names in the sports world. He said Japan is considered Pakistan as brotherly country and that is why he comes up for sponsoring healthy sports activities in FATA. He said the League would provide an opportunity to the youth of FATA to come and excel their hidden talent. Mr. Takuna said that he is happy he utilized the money by helping talent youth of FATA.

Earlier, Shahid Khan Shanwari disclosed that seven international players including five footballers from Afghanistan and two each from Malaysia and Indonesia are also coming to Pakistan to participate in the FFSL-2017. He said they have earlier planned the event on September 27 to October 10 but due to Muharram Ul Harram, now the League would start in the second week of October. The exact date will be announced later on but it is confirmed that the event would be organized in October this year.

He said a total of 12 teams will be taking part in the League. He said the winning team would be awarded Rs 0.5 million while the runner-up team would get Rs 0.3 million. "Best player, top scorer and best goal-keeper would bag Rs 25,000 each," he said. Shinwari said some of the League's matches will also be played at North Waziristan, Orakzai Agency and Bajaur Agency. "Through this league we want to promote the soft image of Pakistan and Fata," he said.

He also thanked the sponsor of the League President Bridgestone Tyres Company owner Japan Takuna Kakuuchi, who specially visited Pakistan. The teams participating in the league include Khyber Eagles, Bajaur Stars, Pakir Epi South Waziristan Agency, Waziristan Panther, Khyber Green Zalmi, Shanwari FC, Malik Saad Falcons, Al Hajj Group, FAW United, Young Jamrud United, Shaheen and Gazi Ajab Khan. At the end, in a colourful ceremony the guests unveiled the trophy.
