Leaders of Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) on Thursday claimed that disqualification of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif is not justified under any law. The PML-N leaders were talking to media persons outside the Supreme Court where hearing of the review petitions of the Sharif family and Finance Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar in Panama Papers case was conducted.

PML-N leader Barrister Zafarullah said that they have presented their stance before the Supreme Court that the disqualification of Nawaz Sharif is not justified. "In the history of Pakistan, judges giving a verdict are not made guardians of the proceedings," said Zafarullah. While responding to a question, he said that the decision of the Supreme Court in Maulvi Tameezuddin case was not accepted as well.

Addressing the the media, State Minister for Information Technology and Communication Anusha Rahman said that the report of the joint investigation team (JIT) is incomplete. She expressed the hope that the Supreme Court would decide review petitions according to the law and the Constitution. She said that former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif presented himself and his family for accountability, because he has faith in sanctity of the court. The court ordered filing of references on the basis of an incomplete report, she claimed.
