The Punjab government has provided two bulletproof cars to two senior police officers of the Punjab police in the wake of prevailing security challenges to the law enforces. According to sources, two new bulletproof cars have been handed over to Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Amin Wains and Deputy Inspector General of Police (Operation) Dr Haider Ashraf. They said these cops have also been advised to use these cars as there are serious security threats.

Earlier, the Punjab police department had procured a bulletproof car for DIG Haider Ashraf but was later given to Additional IG CTD Rai Tahir for security reasons. "After a considerable delay, the two police officers have provided the bulletproof cars," they mentioned. They said the price of these cars is ranging between Rs 40 to 50 millions.

The sources further said the decision of equipping cops with 'all possible security gadgets' was taken in a meeting soon after the fresh wave of militancy in the provincial capital which targeted the security personnel.
