The Karachi Port handled 138,903 tonnes of cargo comprising 126,066 tonnes of import cargo and 12,837 tonnes of export cargo including NA loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 126,066 tonnes comprised of 44,432 tonnes of containerised cargo; 2,579 tonnes of general cargo; 43,525 tonnes of bulk cargo: 26,100 tonnes of coal; 11,065 tonnes of fertilizer; 6,360 tonnes of rock phosphate and 35,530 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.

The total export cargo of 12,837 tonnes comprised of 11,037 tonnes of containerised cargo and 1,800 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo. There were seven ships namely Hyundai Faith, Virgo, New Ark, Tirua, CTG Argon, Casper and Qing Yun Shan carrying containers, oil tankers and steel respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period. There were eight vessels viz. ALS Apollo, Tirua, Sima Genesis, Bertina, Oriental Marguerite, MT Quetta, Sakizya Future and Sea Dias carrying containers, oil tankers, seeds and coal respectively currently at the berths.

There was one ship namely Clemen Schulte carrying containers sailed out to sea on Tuesday, while five ships namely Sima Genesis, Spero, Zealand Rotterdam, Mandarin Fortune and Balaban carrying containers, coal and DAP respectively are expected to sail on Wednesday. There were three vessels YM Cypress, Bahra and Jork carrying containers, oil tanker and general cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday while four vessels viz. Kota Kamil, Northern Decision, Ever Diamond and Bon Atlantico carrying containers and oil tanker respectively are due to arrive on Wednesday.

PORT QASIM
A cargo volume of 140,659 tonnes comprising 116,232 tonnes of import cargo and 24,427 tonnes of export cargo including 2,001 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. The total import cargo of 116,232 tonnes includes 42,832 tonnes of diesel oil; 6,750 tonnes of palm oil; 33,538 tonnes of steel coil; 3,000 tonnes of coal; 4,189 tonnes of LPG; 2,790 tonnes of canola seeds; 4,000 tonnes of heavy lift and 19,133 tonnes of containerised cargo.

The total export cargo of 24,427 tonnes includes 24,427 tonnes of containerised cargo. As many as 2,001 containers comprising of 1,007 containers import and 994 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Tuesday. There were three ships namely CV Sepro, MV Sophia-Z and MT Lilac Victoria carrying containers, coal and diesel oil respectively sailed out to sea on Tuesday morning, while two ships namely CV MSC Victoria and Mt NCC Rabigh carrying containers and palm oil respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.

A total number of ten vessels viz. CV MSC Victoria, CV Sepro, MV Yuan Jing, MV Thor Friendship, MV Star Mistral, MV Tzoumaz, MV Sophia-Z, MV Sea Speed, MT Lilac Victoria and MT NCC Rabigh currently occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, talcum powder, steel coil, canola seeds, LPG, diesel oil and palm oil respectively during the last 24 hours.

As many as twenty three ships namely CV New Ark, CV MSC Busan, MV MG Earth, MV Nireas, MV Saskias, MV Aan Ren, MV Jin Da, MV YM Miranda, MV Gong Yin-1, MV Tiger Hong Kong, MT Ever Rich-6, MT Thomson Gas, MT White Purl, MT MT Epic Sardine, MV Mer Babu, MT Anggerik, MT PVT Athena, MT Lion-M, MT Fotini Lady, MT Maistros, MT Glorious, MT Al-Dasma and MT FG Rotterdam carrying containers, soyabean, steel coil, project cargo, coal chemical, LPG, crude oil, furnace oil, diesel oil and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.

There were five vessels viz. CV New Ark, CV MSC Busan, MT White Purl, MT Anggerik and MT FG Rotterdam carrying containers, LPG, furnace oil and palm oil expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Grain & Fertilizer Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal, FOTCO Oil Terminal and Liquid Oil Terminal respectively on Tuesday.

There were nine ships namely CV Maipo, CV MSC Earth, CV Safmarine Ngami, CV Bremen Belle, CV Uni Florida, CV CMA CGM Amazon, CV Maersk Atlanta, MV Gas Ethereal and MV Le He carrying containers, chemical and project cargo respectively due to arrive on Tuesday.
