Spokesman Punjab government Malik Ahmad Khan has said that Punjab government is utilising all out resources for promoting international sports activities. After PSL final in provincial metropolis, successful holding of World XI matches of Independence Cup will not only raise positive image of Punjab but Pakistan as a peaceful and sports friendly nation throughout the world, he added.

He expressed these views during a press briefing along with Provincial Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada regarding Independence Cup and World XI T-20 series 2017 at 90-Shahrah-e-Qauid-e-Azam, here on Sunday. DIG Operations Haider Ashraf, CTO Lahore Rai Ijaz Ahmad, Commissioner Lahore Abdullah Sumbal and a large number of media representatives were present on the occasion. Commissioner Lahore Division informed the media that similar arrangements have been made at all enclosures at Qadhafi Stadium for providing comparable facilities to the spectators.

He said that a final shape is being given to best cleanliness arrangements through joint efforts of Lahore Waste Management Company. The Minister added that electric coolers and filtration plants are being installed inside the stadium so that provision of cold water could be ensured to the cricket lovers besides; he said all edible items will be available at control rate in the limits of the stadium. DIG Operations Haider Ashraf told that 19 SPs, 45 DSPs and 6000 police officials will perform their duties for ensuring security arrangements in order to make the mega event successful. He said that four tier VIP securities will be provided to the players.

CTO Lahore, while giving details of Traffic Advisory Plan said that a traffic plan has been evolved for smooth flow of traffic in Lahore city. He said for the information of alternate routes, citizens can contact traffic police helpline 15. He said LNG, CNG QINGQI or rickshaws will not be allowed to park near the stadium with a view to security threats and it will be compulsory for persons coming to witness the matches to bring tickets and identity cards with them in order to avoid any difficulty. Provincial Minister for Sports & Youth Affairs Jahangir Khanzada said that Punjab government wants to restore recreational activities for all citizens therefore; all concerned institutions will spare no effort for making this mega event a success. He said a 25-beded temporary hospital facility is being made available in National Hockey Stadium with the cooperation of Punjab Sports Board while an eight bed temporary hospital is also being set up in PC Hotel Lahore where paramedics' staff including doctors will be present. At the conclusion of press briefing, Spokesman Punjab government said that Punjab government seeks full cooperation of civil society and media for restoring cricket. He said that important leaders of all political parties have been invited with the cooperation of PCB and added that the slogan of Pakistan First will have to be raised for maintaining positive image of Pakistan.
