Pakistan's telecom imports soared to $114.015 million in July 2017 - the first month of new fiscal year 2018, up by 54 percent, official figures say. Increase in telecom imports now came to the tune of $39.753 million in July 2017 from $74.262 million in July 2016, Pakistan Bureau of Statistics shows. Mobile handsets import also grew by 48.41 percent or $22.366 million to $68.570 million in July 2017 from $46.204 million in July 2016.

Import of other telecom apparatus went up by 62 percent or $17.387 million to $45.445 million in July 2017 from $28.058 million in July 2016.
