Punjab Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif Monday said that multifaceted China Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) will result in eradication of the menace of terrorism and fanaticism from the region apart from playing an effective role in overcoming issues like poverty and unemployment.

While talking to a delegation of MNAs and MPAs belonging to different districts of the province, here Monday, Shahbaz said that a total of Rs 165 billion had been saved in three major gas-based electricity producing projects which had no parallel in the country's history. Timely completion of development schemes as well as savings in predetermined expenditures was a wonderful achievement of PML-N government, he added.

Shehbaz said that many of the CPEC related initiatives had been completed with total transparency, speed and quality while many others were near to completion. He added that work on CPEC related projects in the country was going on with full speed. He said the magnificent CPEC project had created many new opportunities of investment in Pakistan.

Shahbaz said the project would change the course of destiny and added that "we all should work collectively to make this essential project of national importance a success. We all will collectively remove every obstacle coming in the way of this great project. No stone will be left unturned to complete the CPEC related initiatives along with the achievement of their objectives."

He said, "The CPEC related projects are related to the whole of the country and the people of all the federating units including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir will be equally benefitted from them."

Shahbaz claimed that the fruits of speedy development are reaching to the people in the province and due to the completion of mega projects; masses are getting relief and various other facilities.
